Devver built two cloud-based tools that made Ruby developers more efficient:

Caliper

Caliper was a web application that computed quality metrics for Ruby code. Using Caliper, Ruby developers could easily and quickly discover problems like code duplication, complex code, and code smells.

update: Caliper is no more, but now some other Rubyist have started up a similar code metrics tool, check out Code Climate.

Test Accelerator

The Test Accelerator allowed Ruby developers to run their Ruby tests in the cloud, in parallel. As a result, tests suites completed in a fraction on the time, signficantly improving developer productivity.

Devver (pronounced like "developer", not "devious") was a small software company based in Boulder, CO. We built tools that used the cloud to radically improve the way developers work.
